Production Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Meet production schedule by assigning personnel to best suited positions in order to maximize output
  • Ensure quality standards by conducting and recording quality checks on finished and in progress products.
  • Maintain a safe working environment at all times (PPE, Procedures, Processes)
  • Attend all required meetings with Plant manager/staff (Safety, Production, Crew)
  • Open line of communication with Plant manager (schedule, employees, mechanical, improvements, quality)
  • Ensure all machinery is operating without disruption
  • Follow up on employees, maximize effort and time
  • Keep department clean and organized, have required bins/material close and set up to cut down movement and increase production.
  • Communicate with other related co-managers ensuring efficiency and departmental flow regarding inventory, quality, maintenance and safety.
  • Input and use reporting systems as required
  • Train, monitor, coach and discipline all staff as required
  • Understand and take corrective action as needed

Daily

  • Meet daily production schedule
  • Assign staff to machinery as best suited
  • Do random checks of finished and in progress products
  • Always maintain a safe working environment
  • Provide input to Plant manager as required
  • Open communication with Maintenance manager ensuring all machinery is operating at peak performance
  • Ensure staff is working at 7am to 330pm +, returning from breaks on time, and working at maximum potential
  • Department should be clean and organized to maximize output
  • Make sure your supervisors are a part of decisions, how to best use employees, shortage of staff, in process materials etc.
  • Update manpower, schedules, downtime reports, Quality control reports, and all safety reports
  • Make sure all company policies and procedures are being followed by staff
  • Troubleshoot bottlenecks at machine centers
  • Report all incidents to your manager

Weekly

  • Attend weekly production meeting
  • Follow up on all weekly points/changes discussed in production meeting
  • Provide recommendations for hiring, firing, performance, and training
  • Organize and Coordinate schedule for best performance

Monthly

  • Attend monthly safety meeting
  • Attend monthly floor/staff meeting
  • Follow up on all monthly points/changes in improvement
